Looks like you had a great time in Hue. I found the Imperial city to be a fascinating spot, loved the look of disrepair you could find deep inside. Stunning photos as usual. I find Hue quite an interesting place, despite having considerable tourist numbers I still got quite a few stares as I walked through the city. The waterfront at night is pretty great too for street food. Did you get out to see some of the other temples? I remember doing a tour that took me to a few outside the city.

I love your 60 second video but also super bummed now that I didn't carve time out of my upcoming trip to Vietnam for Hue! The gateway looks so majestic, and the intricate detailing on the dragon is very impressive. I'll have to plan a longer trip back to Vietnam in the future and check out Hue.

Always love your pictures and well thought out posts. Love all those vibrant colors throughout all the places you visited here. So much history there and the palaces are pretty amazing. Even the countryside looks inviting. And as always, you two try some fabulous looking food! Thanks for sharing your posts makes me want to visit.

I learnt a lot about Hue history and the Tet Offensive when I was at School. I spent a month in Da Nang and Hoi An and really wanted to visit Hue because of its rich past but just didn’t get around to it. I’m planning to return one day to explore more of the country - possibly on a motorbike. The Japanese bridge does look very similar to the one in Hoi An.

It looks like you had a good tour around Hue and your photos are amazing. The Thanh Toan Tile bridge looks well maintained given its age. I wonder if some of the gates will be restored someday.

Another fantastic post on Vietnam ... a place we will be visiting shortly and thanks for showing us why we need to visit Hue, (and it must have been fascinating arriving on a full moon). I can totally see how some of the architecture and decorations are modelled on Beijing, especially The Thai Hoa Palace and I do recall being told the history of Vietnam and China being one country when we were in Guilin. I am a person of a nervous disposition at times so I am torn as to whether or not to do a scooter ride but it does look amazing! We just hired a scooter for a couple of days around the quiet island o Lembongan and I held onto Sy for dearlife for most of it even though it was perfectly safe so goodness knows what I would be like in Vietnam! Love the patterns made from the incense sticks, the colours are so vibrant. Pinned this post for when we travel here! (ps, I wouldn't say you look like you have escaped from a day care centre, but it does look like you are in a funky looking wheelchair lol) #feetdotravel

Hue looks stunning through your photos and a little less treacherous than HCMC & Hanoi for scooter riding, is that a correct observation? We missed Hue on our Vietnam visit but won't be making that mistake on the next one. Again, the 60-second vid sucked me right in.
