Where did you stay outside of Reykjavik? Would you recommend staying in Vik or somewhere near Jökulsárlón? Did you mind driving yourselves (does the driver miss out on scenery)? About how much gas did you consume (liters or cost)? Trying to decide if it would be better to hire a tour or self drive. Any advice would be welcome.
